Can you please open a bug on snappy (on launchpad), attach your syslog there, if you can attach a snapcraft.yaml file (though this is not required). Yes, but appropriate midi plug doesn't exist yet. I have a pulseaudio plug that should be merged soon but that might not cover midi yet (I honestly don't know).
