This doctrine teaches that no matter how discouraging our mission on earth may become, God is our keeper and not man. It is God that keeps and preserves us, not our own activity. Therefore, we are secure in the promises that Christ made to us. Christ’s message to us is of God’s perfect love, and a certain salvation in Christ.
