I suspect every school varies, I was
trying to remember if Arkansas had them when I went here the first half of 9th
grade. But I can't remember, Louisiana on the other hand I remember well since I
went there the entire time for high school except the first semester of 9th
grade. lol

I graduated in 93 and we only had what I told you about,
lol.
I graduated in 1987, 16 years
ago...and we had both. And they were available any time after lunch...before
lunch, they weren't...but after, they were fair game. I'm sure the teachers
lounge had them as well, but these area in a outside area for the
students....

Im serious, I graduated 10 years ago and the only machine we had
(that was available to the students) was the coke machine outside the boys
locker room. Now the teachers lounge had a snack machine, but we were
never allowed in there.
Come on, surely my high
school wasn't the only one to have snack machines. lol It's not a new fad. lol
And ours
were available after lunch, and last recess.....not just after school.
They weren't available until after
lunch however.....

We only had a coke machine and it was in the boys locker room,
or at least right outside of it. So the girls could only use it when
the guys werent in the gym. My kids have a snack bar in their school
now, but they only open it after school so they can get a drink and a
snack on the way home. But at least they are still getting a healthy
lunch and not eating from the snack bar or vending machines. They also
have a vending machine that has fruit juice, water and gatorade that
they can use anytime. I just havent had my kids ask me for money for
it yet. They only ask for $1 to get a drink and a snack after school,
then they still come home and have a sandwich or a bowl of
soup.
