You sniped off some of your original question, I think.
What I was getting at is that I think that a lot of women, (not you Jackie),
that complain about only getting judged by what's on the outside don't
always give much love to their man from the inside. If a man is getting
love and attention from his woman he *will* appreciate her inner beauty.
If all a man gets is hen pecking and put downs that make him feel worthless,
he will be susceptable to another woman that will give him the attention.
If a guy has been around enough of these women he may find it is easier
to just consider them sex toys and treat them as such. Down in Texas, I
used to listen to a talk radio program called "Dr. Tony Grant." She mostly
specialized in relationship advise. When ever a woman would call in
and complain about her husband and how they had an argument over
something and how she just couldn't get through to the thick headed brute,
Dr. Tony would point out that the woman was displaying very destructive
behavior to their marriage. She would always say.... "Do you want to be
right ... or do you want to be loved."
As far as the magazines and such.... I agree with Charles.... You can't tell
me that women don't put any stock in their first impression of how a man
looks.... As far as the airbrushed perfection thing..... I often see real live
walking talking women of all ages and dress sizes that didn't need any
airbrushing to get *my* attention.... <G> I am sorry that some women
compare themselves to what they see on the magazine stand, but I think
that they could choose not to.... I don't compare myself to the weight lifter
guys that are on those same magazine stands. Now if a guy took out a
Maxim or SI magazine and showed it to his wife and said, " Why don't
you look like that?" That would be cruel, but I think that mostly what you
are saying is that you *assume* they are comparing.

I bit of an over generalization IMO. I think a lot of women would
rather be *right* than be *loved*. They are their own worst enemies
maybe so but why is it women want to look like that or feel they should have to? look at the magazines men buy maxim and playboy and even alot of the sporting magazines all have pictures of airbrushed women that they keep up in their garages or use as comparison to wives and girlfriends________________________________
