When you set up the dialing
thingamabob you tell it which modem to use. Actually you'd just
adjust the properties of the existing dialup
thingamabob.

though. lol If it plugged directly into the modem or something leading to
it..guess you told me. lol
If you do the external thing,
how does it know to bypass the other one.....by the installation cd I take
it?

The modem is the thing that the
phone plugs in too....:) That's how you tell
it!
As for the kind, you really just
need to know what kind of slot it was in , or what you have free.
If you have a USB port you can get an external one that will work fairly
well and you won't even have to crack the case.
