Sony Pictures signs Russian deal
LOS ANGELES -- Sony Pictures Television International has signed a deal that will result in 300 hours of programming for prime time television in Russia. The Hollywood Reporter said the deal represents the largest program production commission ever won by a U.S. company in Russia. The deal includes Russian production partner AmediA Group and broadcaster CTC in Moscow -- the first time Russian and American production professionals have joined up. Among the first productions is "Poor Anastasia," set in 19th century Russia. It is to be shot on Sony HD equipment purchased by AmediA as part of the deal. Also among the early entries is a second period drama, "Sins of the Father."
