MIAMI HAS MOST FOREIGN BORN

The city with the most foreign born residents is Miami, with
51 percent, and the area with the least is Westmoreland County,
Pa., with just 0.6 percent. The U.S. Census finds about 75
percent of the foreign-born population in the West lives in
California, which has 9.2 million residents who were born in
a foreign country. Kevin Deardorff, the Census Bureau's chief
of immigration statistics, says the survey shows enormous
growth in immigration despite the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist
attacks and the nation's economic downturn, the Los Angeles
Daily News reports.
