LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - The "Armageddon' team of writer Shane Salerno and director Michael Bay are working together again. This time the pair is developing a crime drama for ABC.
Salerno is writing the project, which sounds like a modern take on "The Untouchables." An idealistic attorney and his family move from Washington to Chicago. There, he must face his childhood friend, who know runs the city's criminal underground as a powerful kingpin. "Our hero is the kind of person we all aspire to be, and our villain represents everything that tears at the fabric of this country," Salerno tells The Hollywood Reporter. "The series will pose a simple question: How long can a good man stay good when he is pursuing evil?" Salerno was one of the co-creators of NBC's "UC: Undercover." His feature scripts include the upcoming "Alien vs. Predator" and "Ghost Rider," currently set to star Nicolas Cage. Bay is overseeing the project and may direct. ABC has given a pilot commitment. This is a change of pace for Bay, who has gone from commercial director to blockbuster brand name in the space of a decade. His credits include testosterone-heavy flicks like "The Rock" and "Pearl Harbor" as well as both films in the "Bad Boys" series. This is his first series television venture. "I've waited a long time to find the right project in television," he says. "This is something that's gotten me excited, where we can really delve into two different characters and watch their lives collide." ________________________________ Changes to your subscription (unsubs, nomail, digest) can be made by going to http://sandboxmail.net/mailman/listinfo/sndbox_sandboxmail.net
