LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - When a show is flopping, it's probably good strategy to limit the audience's chances to turn away from it.
With that in mind, FOX is dropping its twice-a-week airings of "The Next Joe Millionaire" and will confine the ratings poison to Monday nights, beginning Nov. 3. Repeats of some of the network's veteran series will fill the 8 p.m. ET Tuesday spot for the next three weeks, the network says. FOX was hoping that "The Next Joe Millionaire" would duplicate the ratings magic of the first edition, which brought in well over 20 million viewers a week last winter. Figuring it a can't-miss proposition, the network scheduled the show on Mondays and Tuesdays, hoping the latter airing would deliver a big lead-in to "24." That all changed, of course, when the current "Joe" managed to lose about two-thirds of the audience for the first edition. The season premiere of "24" also did okay on its own this week. A repeat of the "24" premiere will air at 8 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 4), leading into the show's second episode. The following week, repeats of "That '70s Show" will fill the hour, with another "'70s Show" and "The Simpsons" scheduled for Nov. 18. FOX hasn't scheduled anything yet for Nov. 25.
