ROFL!!!!!!!!! Same here....

We moved alot, albeit in the same towns sometimes...but because of that had cable several times thru the years, as well as satellite. Of course once we tried satellite, we were hooked. It was like night and day...lol

The same old stuff seemed to hold true, whether it was Arkansas or Louisiana with cable....

Hadn't heard about the rain bonnet....neat. But yeah, ours didn't do it enough either to really justify trying it. lol Sounds neat though...

We had cable for years.  We even tried digital cable after they put the new fiber optic lines in.  The problem was that the cable always seemed to go out, especially when I was watching something.

There is a rain bonnet that is advertised for the dish that theoretically eliminates rain fade.  I've never looked at it seriously because I hate to pay for it and it not work.

I can count on my hands the number of times in the past 5 years my sat has been out for longer than 3 minutes.  I'd need a few dozen friends to count the number of times cable went out for longer than 3 minutes when we had it.

Ditto for my experience with Dish.....no contracts, and storms rarely effected it...when it did, it was usaully for seconds. Unlike the digital cable we had in town that the channels were messed up for days on end.
