November 5, 2003 -- MICHAEL Jackson may soon be moonwalking again in prime time.

The Gloved One is in talks with CBS to perform in a music special that would air on the network Nov. 26, a week after the release of his newest hits collection, "Number Ones," industry sources say.

CBS declined comment.

But one source said the talks, first reported by Daily Variety, had been ongoing under Jackson's "contractual obligation to CBS to do a performance."

A Jackson special in November 2001, celebrating his 30 years as a solo artist, was a major ratings success for CBS, drawing more than 25 million viewers.

Last February, several networks aired Jackson specials focusing on the reclusive singer's private life.
