A skilled debater can take any position.  However, these are designed to be silly, irreverent, and fun.  Besides, often in life we are required to make a choice when neither choice is acceptable.  You have to weigh the options and decide which is the best choice of two bad ones.  It doesn't mean you have to like either of them.  But for the game to work, you have to choose, just like in life.

For example if both my wife and daughter were hanging from a cliff and I could only save one of them, neither choice is appealing, but I'd have to make it and live with the consequences of the choice.  Now, none of these questions are that life and death, but the principle is the same.

1.  Abstinence is strictly forbidden!  On most of the questions you will not like either answer.  You have to choose one and defend your choice.  Phrases like "Neither" or "I'd rather die" should never be uttered.

how are we suppose to debate an answer we dont believe in?
