Well I
personally wouldn't be killing them....my cats or dogs would. Used to have a
hamster that the kids wanted and he disappeared and I believe he went the way of
many, many mice and was buried in the bottom of my cats belly.
You sound like my
brother. He wanted me to dump them down a sewer. And he kept insisting I was
an idiot for trying to save them. :o(
Sorry, I just don't have
it in me. I was always the kid that wanted to take in every stray
cat/dog/bird.
I couldn't in good
conscience just kill them. Mice and rats actually are very smart and make
great pets.

If
I took them in, they would be food for my cats and dogs. I love my animals
sometimes.
I took in 2 orphaned
field mice last spring. Sadly, they both eventually died.
