No, I still say it was an accident. I also think that there are times that even an accident has consequences.
ok, i've tried to keep on the low down here, but punishing a kid for an accident seems entirely inappropiate. There was ontime i was riding a bike at my sister's house. She lived in a trailer park, and we were jumping the speedbumps. I wanted to have the biggest jump so i went as fast as i could, and hit a speedbump. Upon landing i lost control of the bike and sped right into a trailer hitch where i went over the handlebars and i hit my chest on the tongue of the hitch. The guy whose trailer it was made sure i was ok, and walked me up to my sisters trailer and told her what happened. The experience alone caused me to never try to jump a bike again...ANYWHERE. What good would a punishment have done? My sister told my parents and they were just glad i wasn't seriously hurt. That was a purely AVOIDABLE accident. A punishment really wouldn't have done anything at all.
