Ok, I like that.  You know why it won't work?  Because seniors today that retire at 62-65 will get much more than they paid in.  That's why the system is going broke.  I don't think the gvt. should be involved in pensions at all.  Let the people take that 13% taken out of their checks for FICA and invest it where they want to.  If they spend the money and don't save it, then that's their problem when they get old.
 
SS has a 2% return on investment.  A good investment account can give you a 7% return in a bad year, and as much as 30-40% in a good year.  Why should the gvt. do the investing?  It's obvious they are not smart enough to do a good job.

well your no help today :-P   from their own pockets   no  but they do need to give them the ssi that they paid in because that is what it was paid in for.   personally id like to see ss accounts at banks so when they take it out it goes into that account in your name and put it like a christmas club thing where they cant take it out til 60  :)))
