underage drinking

I know most won't agree with
this, but here goes. I'll explain all now so I don't have to elaborate on it
in any other posts on this subject. I don't feel that underage drinking
always leads to alcoholism or that all teens that drink are troubled. I
think a lot do it just to do it, some b/c of peer pressure and some just b/c
they like it. None are really good reasons, but it does happen, every day.
Now when my kids are in high school and they wind up at a party and drink,
then I want them to call me and I'll come pick them up w/o really punishing
them for it b/c I'd rather if they do get drunk to call me to come get them
than to try to drive home themselves or get in the car with someone else.
Not to mention in a lot of cases the more you try to stop them from
drinking, the more they are going to do it behind your back just to spite
you. I don't approve of underage drinking, regardless of the fact I did it
myself as a teen. But the fact still remains, it is a part of everyday life.
While maybe not normal as Jackie says, it is part of the norm. Ok, I've put
in my two cents now. Good night all.
so an 8 year old who misjudged a jump should be
disciplined but a teenager who drinks shouldnt as long as they call for a ride
home? that makes sense.
