Ritter - who appeared in movies with her husband, legendary singing cowboy Tex Ritter, died Nov. 5 at a retirement home where she'd lived since 1989.
Her death came less than two months after that of son John Ritter, the star of ABC's "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" and numerous movies and TV shows, including the 1970s hit "Three's Company."
John Ritter died suddenly on Sept. 11 as a result of an aortic dissection.
The daughter of a doctor in Prescott, Ariz., Dorothy Ritter was born in April 1915. She appeared in about a dozen B-movie Westerns from 1938 to 1941, and had bit parts in other films.
Her 1941 marriage to Tex Ritter marked the end of her show-business career.
Tex objected to son John's desire to go into acting - but Dorothy "was especially supportive in the beginning," said their other son, Tom Ritter.
In addition to Tom, Dorothy Fay Ritter is survived by four grandchildren.
