Tim Allen was originally cast in Mike Myers' title Cat role, but Allen was busy making "Santa Clause 2." The set for Cat was custom built in Moorpark, California, where angry residents phoned City Hall demanding the gaudy new subdivision be torn down. Someone even took matters into their own hands as movie props worth $55,000 disappeared from the set. These included an 8-foot pair of glasses, a 6-foot by 4-foot by 8-foot anvil, a 4-foot key, and a golf ball 7 feet in diameter that tipped the scales at over 200 pounds.
