Wil Wheaton, both famous and infamous for playing Wesley Crusher on Star
Trek: The Next Generation, announced that he has signed a three-book deal
with O'Reilly & Associates.

Writing on his official web site, Wheaton said that the publisher would
bring out an edition of his short story collection Dancing Barefoot, which
Wheaton had previously self-published.

"Now, I'll be able to get my books into more stores than I ever was with my
own Monolith Press," wrote Wheaton. "I can't wait to see how Dancing
Barefoot does when it's got a major publisher behind it." The book sold
3,000 copies in a small run by Monolith.

"New evidence of the symbiotic relationship between Sci Fi and geekdom
surfaced today, as O'Reilly & Associates, the geek publisher-of-record,
announced plans to publish three books by Wil Wheaton," said the publisher
in a press release.

The publisher will also release Just a Geek in 2004, telling the story of
Wheaton's evolution from teen actor to writer, parent and proud geek.
