Well, long story.
I started by going to junior college for 3 years instead of 2.
Majored in general at first then went with computer
science.
Then went to USM and worked on my computer engineering
degree. I hit a wall when I had to pass 2 classes that had nothing to do
with computers, but one was control systems and I honestly forget the other
one. Control systems had calculus in it, and that was stuff I forgot from
my first year there...this was my last year. Ok, so I dropped out after
attempting the classes a couple of times.
I then moved back home and went to bible college for 3
years...was working full time so I couldn't get enough classes in that amount of
time to graduate.
After that, I went back to USM to attempt one more time to pass the
classes that I needed...no luck. I was as lost as before. I also
began to learn that a degree isn't what I necessarily need to have in my
field...certification goes as far if not further in getting a good job.
I've been doing a little study here and there to get certified, but just haven't
gotten to the point that I feel comfortable taking a test to get
certified.
Oh, and since I went to USM last, they have taken those classes out of
the curriculum for computer engineering because of their irrelevance for the
degree. Figures. :-)
