"MASH"'s 5th Season on DVD
In "MASH"'s 5th season Major Hoolihan (Loretta Swit) married Lt. Col.
Donald Penobscott and consequently grew as a character, while Frank
Burns (Larry Linville) grew even more frustrated with the lack of
military order at the 4077th. This three-disc set includes all 24
episodes from season five, including "38 Across," where Hawkeye, in
attempting to complete the "New York Times" crossword puzzle, summons
another doctor to the MASH unit, "Movie Tonight" where a print of My
Darling Clementine excites everyone in the camp and "Hanky Panky" where
B.J. falls off the fidelity wagon. This collection comes with the option
to turn off the often-lamented "laugh track" as well.

IMDb MOVIE OF THE DAY
Can a clothes pin, a kiwi, and a broken faucet change the course of
someone's life? Apparently they can, as can a million other small and
seemingly insignificant objects, as demonstrated in Laurent Firode's
2000 exploration of chance, Happenstance. Irene (Audrey Tautou) is the
thread that holds the fabrics of the various stories together, to form a
perplexing, somewhat muddled, but still comforting quilt of a fate,
chance and reprisals. Not entirely unlike Am�lie, Tautou's breakthrough
starring role a year later, the camera follows Irene through her day,
beginning on her train ride to work, where a woman tells her that her
horoscope decrees that she will meet her one true love that day.
Skeptical but polite, Irene exits the train and heads into the crowd on
her way to work, the starting point for glimpses into the lives of
several Parisians that day, and the random ways that their lives
unknowingly intersect. While there is no solid plot to follow, what
keeps the film interesting are the various exercises of fate vs.
self-determination combined with the way these dissimilar lives are
woven together, some left dangling loose threads, while others come
