E.P. Taylor bred the race horse Northern Dancer. At one time they had him for
sale at an auction with a $40,000 reserve. Northern Dancer went on to win the
Kentucky Derby which was nice, but what he did after he went to stud changed
the Thoroughbred breed forever. During the 1970's Northern Dancer colts
routinely brought in excess of $1,000,000 at auction. Even now Northern Dancer
can be found in the pedigree of nearly all high class stakes horses in this
country and in Europe.
