Pest Control Workers Spark Explosion
For a second time in two days, pest control workers in central Florida were
injured after accidentally setting off an explosion at a house they were
treating. Police say Todd Defusco of Terminex Pest Control was drilling holes
into a concrete patio when an explosion sent fragments of flying, a day after
the same thing happened to colleague Jerry Alleston. "What we found was
detonation cord embedded in the concrete," Lt. Jack Aguiar of the
sheriff's Bomb Squad, tells WKMG-TV in Orlando, Fla. "It looks like a
clothesline," Aguiar said. "It may be that someone used the cord as a
level line when pouring the slab for the patio, and the line ended up buried in
the concrete."
