LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Christmas came a week or so early to Stars Hollow.
The WB has decided to pick up a fifth season of "Gilmore Girls," a network spokeswoman confirms to Zap2it.com. The series, which stars Lauren Graham and Bledel as an extraordinarily close mother and daughter, has become one of the Frog's signature shows in its three-plus years on the air. The fifth-season pickup also all but assures the series will pass the 100-episode landmark. Amy Sherman-Palladino created "Gilmore Girls" and is responsible for its screwball comedy-style rapid banter. Jordan Levin, co-CEO of The WB, praises Sherman-Palladino as "a gifted writer with one of the most unique voices on television, not to mention a truly frightening collection of silly hats." "Gilmore Girls" debuted in fall 2000 to fairly meager ratings opposite NBC's powerful Thursday lineup. The WB moved stuck with the show, however, and it blossomed after moving to Tuesdays the following season. The show is going through a transition this year as Rory (Bledel) leaves her hometown of Stars Hollow, Conn., for Yale University. It's averaging about 4.7 million viewers a week (including repeats) and consistently performs well among The WB's target demographics of young adults and teenagers. _______________________________________________ Sndbox mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://a8.mewebdns-a8.com/mailman/listinfo/sndbox_sandboxmail.net
