Intexticating Messages

Text messages sent while drunk have replaced getting drunk and kissing in the photocopy room as one of the side effects of the Christmas office party season. About 25 percent of the 60 million text messages sent every day in December were sent by someone who has imbibed too much, according to an analysis by Virgin cell phones. The phenomenon of sending text messages that many regret the next morning is being called "intexicated," the Daily Telegraph reports. Many of the messages are misdirected because people are drunk. Twenty-nine-year-old Lucy Freebourne of London sent a sexually explicit text message to her father due to the close proximity of "Dad" and "Dan," on her cell phone's address book.
