Subject: [Sndbox] Seabiscuit' Outruns Them All in Holiday Sales

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Riding the crest of the holiday shopping season
to a thundering first week finish, "Seabiscuit" burst out of the gate with
over $80 million in consumer spending to become the year's best-selling
drama released on DVD and VHS.

Released on December 16, the title sold 5 million units in its first six
days of release.

"This is certainly a film that audiences loved and we were confident it
would be just as enthusiastically embraced on DVD," states Craig Kornblau,
president, Universal Studios Home Video.

The horse flick recently received two Golden Globe nominations including
best picture and best supporting actor -- drama for William H. Macy, and has
earned over $120 million at the box office.

Named one of the year's best films by the National Board of Review, the film
stars Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges, Academy Award-winner Chris Cooper
("Adaptation"), Elizabeth Banks, Macy, and Hall of Fame jockey/actor Gary
Stevens. "Seabiscuit" was written and directed by Gary Ross from the best
selling novel of the same name.
