Of course I read Harry Potter too....but it's a different sort of fantasy. But LOTR was required reading at my school and I read it then and it was one of the few books I actually enjoyed reading...that and Storming Heaven, can't remember who wrote that one..but I went on to read the Hobbit and the last two books in the series after having to read the LOTR.
