Five
Romance Resolutions to Make This New YearBy Laura Snyder
While you're resolving to eat more veggies and visit the gym more often, why not apply that same determination to improving your love life?
Here, five ideas that could make this New Year your most romantic ever:
- Take Inventory. Take a good, long look at your love life. Is it everything you want it to be? If it's not, think about what areas you'd like to improve. Tired of spending too many Friday nights alone? Frustrated that your on-again, off-again boyfriend isn't there for you? Brainstorm ways to fix those problems, but don't try to change what you can't. Now is the time to get rid of what's not working.
- Love Thyself. Sexy people feel good about themselves. So, if you're not treating yourself with the same regard and attention you shower on others, the New Year is a good time to start.
- Dare Not to Compare. It's hard not to feel a little bit jealous when you hear your friends boast about their latest sexual conquest, or when you encounter one of those near-perfect, nauseatingly happy couples. When you find yourself slipping into those the grass-is-greener thoughts, try and focus on what you really appreciate in your own life.
- Be a Kindler, Gentler You. It really is the little things that matter. We sometimes treat our partners with less respect than we would our co-workers or close friends. Work on curbing those sarcastic remarks that slip out and commit to committing random acts of kindness to make your sweetie feel loved.
- Kiss More. If you act more loving, you'll feel more loving. Besides, too much affection never hurt anyone. Who knows in what sexy direction those smooches may lead!
