LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Here's a bit of trivia worthy of "Cheers" mail carrier Cliff Claven: Did you know the actor who plays Cliff also appeared in a "Star Wars" movie? It's true: Before John Ratzenberger donned his mailman's uniform, he suited up as a rebel forces officer who worked alongside Princess Leia in "The Empire Strikes Back." Although the character, "Major Bren Derlin," isn't a major one, he does have an action figure, as Ratzenberger recently learned. Now, wherever the actor travels, he hunts down comic book shops so he can search out dolls made in his image. "I've bought about 15 of them so far," he brags. While he's not searching for "Star Wars" action figures, Ratzenberger hosts a new Travel Channel series, "John Ratzenberger's Made In America," which premieres Tuesday (Jan. 6.) |
