LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "One Big Happy," a family drama from director
Shawn Levy and two writers of "Wonderfalls" has received a pilot order from
FOX.
FOX has also formally ordered a pilot for a medical drama from "Homicide"
co-creator Paul Attanasio, while CBS is staying in its crime-drama
wheelhouse with two pickups, the Hollywood trade papers report.
"One Big Happy" will take a lighthearted tone as it follows the life of a
blended family with five kids. Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, who've
worked on FOX's upcoming "Wonderfalls," "John Doe" and "Roswell," are
writing the pilot and executive producing with Levy ("Cheaper by the
Dozen").
The Attanasio pilot will focus on a team of doctors who diagnose cases that
baffle other medical professionals. He will executive producing with Katie
Jacobs and writer David Shore ("Family Law," CBS' Attanasio-produced
"Century City"). FOX had previously given the series a put pilot order.
CBS, meanwhile, has greenlit pilots for "Numbers," about an MIT
mathematician who helps the FBI crack cases, and an untitled show about a
father and two sons who work as bounty hunters.
"Numbers" comes from Ridley and Tony Scott's Scott Free Productions and was
written by Cheryl Heuton and Nick Falacci. The bounty-hunter pilot was
written by Terri Hughes and Ron Milbauer ("Idle Hands") and is set up at
Spelling TV.
