LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - NBC has found another detective to patrol the
beaches of Hawaii, while FOX is taking a second stab at finding hilarity of
multiple-birth siblings as pilot season continues to heat up.
Ivan Sergei, currently a co-star on NBC's "Crossing Jordan," will join the
cast of the network's "Pearl City," an ensemble drama about detectives in
Hawaii. Sergei, who joins Sharif Atkins ("ER") in the cast, will play an
arrogant, unorthodox detective, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to "Crossing Jordan," which returns to NBC in March, Sergei can
be seen in the network's May sweeps miniseries event "10.5." His previous
television credits include The WB dramedy "Jack & Jill" and the short-lived
ABC comedy "Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central)."
Over at FOX, the network has picked up "Quints," a comedy from Mark Reisman
("Frasier"). The series, which comes from 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine
TV, will focus on a clan of 15-year-old siblings living in a small house.
Reisman will executive produce along with David Nevins and Brian Grazer of
Imagine.
In 2002, the network picked up the pilot for "Septuplets" with an eye
towards a midseason launch. The logistics proved too complicated and the
series never aired, though creator Kip Koenig is back at the network with
"Still Life," slated to premiere this spring.
