Did she jump the gun in accepting his proposal?

DEAR HARRIETTE: My boyfriend and I have been together for more than five years. For the past year and a half we have lived in different cities (about eight hours away by car) and maintained a long-distance relationship. During the holidays, he called and proposed marriage. I said "yes," but then I realized that I didn't want to leave my family, job, and friends. He has settled himself in his new home and has no intentions of relocating. What should I do? Oh, and the cherry on top ... why couldn't he come and propose in person? I didn't see him at all during the holidays. -- Stef, Yeadon, Pa.
