First, re: the ERROR_RULE_AUTH condition, did you correct the typo I identified from your screen shot?
Second, when you do use FTP (which is not done by the auto update script) you do not need to change directories. In any case, you would ever change directories to the specific file you were trying to download.
Here is a copy from my screen where I just successfully downloaded your rulebase file via ftp:
ftp> open ftp.sortmonster.net
Connected to www.sortmonster.net.
220 Hello.
User (www.sortmonster.net:(none)): sniffer

230 Login successful.
ftp> get agseap2t.snf
200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for agseap2t.snf (9309192 bytes).
226 File send OK.
ftp: 9309192 bytes received in 43.59Seconds 213.55Kbytes/sec.
ftp> quit
221 Goodbye.
Hope this helps,

Pete, please review the response from Tech Support below. So history on my account.... I bought your program from Declude. I told them of the server move and they said you put a temporary condition on the program/user ID so it would run at both locations/servers. They then said to call them when the migration was over. I spoke to you directly and you told me that there is nothing special in the transfer from one server to the other. I took that to mean that there are not hooks in the program that tie it to a specific server other than the license string. Could there be something on your end that is limiting my account? In any event there does seem to be a problem that Rackspace identified while trying to connect to your server. I did download the rule base yesterday but as my email last night showed it no longer works due to a "ERROR_RULE_AUTH 73" problem. Hopefully there is something on your end that we can sort out? Status: Unsolved Account #: 31435 Computers: 72154, 72153, 72152 Date: 10/10/2005 10:48pm Comment: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve, I apologize I did not realize the sniffer/ki11sp8m was a username/password combination. First of all, the Voyager FTP application will not accept a site name of "ftp.domain.com/something". When it goes to lookup the DNS entry for the FTP site, it fails to even reach the server. I believe this is a permissions issue with the sniffer account. Using a different FTP client program, WSFTP, the client reaches the server even when using ftp.sortmonster.net/agseap2t.snf. The user can successfully log in, but gets a permission denied error. I received the same error when doing connecting to this FTP site on my personal workstation. Here is the connection log.
