Caroline, I had the same problem and got the classic "fix your classpath" answer. Instead I went and installed the Resin server. Dropped in the soap.war file, set my classpath to include the soap directory for the client, and everything works. It seems Tomcat is just too picky and no one knows how to make it happy.
