Lenhart, Could it be you Intranet is behind a proxy? In that case, search on "proxy" or "setUserName()" in the archives.

I'm all new to SOAP, so please apologise if this question has been answered before. I couldn't find anything on the archive. I'm trying to run a servlet as a simple client for one of the webservices found on xmethods on Tomcat4. When the SOAP RPC call is invoked, I get this error message: [SOAPException: faultCode=SOAP-ENV:Client; msg=Error opening socket: Connection timed out: connect; targetException=java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Error op ening socket: Connection timed out: connect] What could be wrong? I'm grateful for any suggestions! Many thanks in advance, Stefan Mit freundlichen Gruessen Stefan Lenhart R. Boeker Consulting GmbH Ein Unternehmen der R.
