link  http://machine:port/soap/servlet/rpcrouter continues to work even
after changing web.xml

dont know where its picking the webapp "soap" from.

it seems apache config is mixed up.. i will get back after a checking config

I don't understand what you mean by "rpc router check fails at
rmsoapsvc/servlet/rpcrouter".  Can you be more specific?

Nothing is hard-coded to require /soap webapp name.  I have used many
alternatives.  I just noticed that web.xml has a particular path mapped,
and I was pretty much grasping at straws to understand the problem you
are having.
