Communication between axis and Apache soap

My server and client are right now in apache. We are planning to migrate to apche axis. Changing the server is easy but there are multiuple client and due to the time constraints we can't migrate to apache axis on the client side.   My question is, can I keep my client as it is (in Apache SOAP) and just change the server to migrate to axis?   If so, does anyone has sample code in apache soap that communicates with axis services.   Praveen
