A laser then shapes the lense underneath. The cornea is put back in place and about 15 mintues later you go home with corrected vision. Wear a transparent eye patch for 24 hours to protect the eye while it heals, the no swimming etc. for 1 week to avoid infection. There is no pain at any time during the procedure. I couldn't be happier with my results. It corrects the lense, but can't help with focus range problems that occur as we get older. I had my near sightedness corrected, but might need reading glasses as I get older. I know several people who have had it done and the cost was $2000 - $2500 per eye. To my knowledge it's not covered by insurance. Ralph Weaver "Perspective is worth 30 IQ points."
