While I was learning to fly with my all-balsa, Jedelsky winged Doodler,
the guy that was teaching me to fly had a Graupner Cumulus. Now, in the
early 70's, that was one fast sailplane. He would get it way up and way out
and then hand me the transmitter,tell me to fly it back, and chuckle while I
struggled to stay ahead of it. It had an unusual shaped canopy that was
responsible for a "Stuka-like" scream at speed. It was a nice looking
plane that might do well in Nostalgia these days if any were left.
