Patrick,
I just picked up a used Hobbico field charger for twenty bucks
from a pilot on the exchange. I think they normally go for around $40.00
- $50.00 bucks. Simple to use. Charges either 4.8 volt or 6.00 volt
receiver batteries, and also the 9.6 TX battery independently of one
another. Simple hook up. Plug in either the RX or Tx battery and push the
start button for the appropiate one. The light goes on and then starts
blinking when it peaks. Yesterday we found a wing that another fellow
pilot lost about a month ago. We placed it on the charger and after about
twenty five minutes, it was ready to go. His needs to be cycled to get it
back into condition wich this model does not do, other then that I think
you will be happy with it. It is not uncommon for Mike Wofford (fellow
slope Rebel) to have his at the flying site and a line of gear waiting
to go on it. That's why I bought the same kind. It works good for the
money. I'm sure you will get other opinions. You can either make up your
own leads for the type of gear you use, or buy them from a Hobbico dealer
pre-made, your choice. It does not come with charging leads. I am making
my own from a couple of toasted servos and an older wall charger that
will be scarificed so we can charge in the field. Good Luck. Tower has
them, as do most other hobby shops. Good Luck
