Ed,
I have several Tetras in several electric planes. A Twinstar, a Smiley,
a 020 power SkaT, a Kyosho T-33 DF, and a DAW speed 400 Extra. I also have
2 HLGs with them and even used one on an indoor until the lighter Sky Hooks
and Rigging Rx came in.

My thoughts? Well I have got hit on the Smiley once, and once on a HLG.
But both were at times where over 25 other Txs were on and operating in a
small area. Exactly what I would expect from ANY single conversion Rx, and
I would also probably expect that from a dual as well in some cases! You
just cannot fly low over a large amount of Txs and not expect some problem
from occuring (neither resulted in a crash, just a hard glitch and some loss
of control for a second or two). And in both cases I was flying low over
the "group" while I was standing quite a ways away from the plane.
The motors I use all are suppressed and isolated as far from the Rx as
possible (not far in the SkaT or DAW!). I have not had any rf problems
associated with the motor. I take care to ensure that the contacts are
clean and tight, and that the motors have been suppressed with the
appropriate caps.

If done correctly, even the wide band indoor Rxs do not suffer rf
problems with electric motors. I would question the people that have had
problems and if possible, view their setup yourself in order to verify that
they installed everything ok. Personally, while I would never use one in a
high $$$ plane, they are fine for most sport applications out there.
