The AIAA Journal of Aircraft is a widely distributed journal for those involved in aerodynamic research. I find every moth at least four reports worth studying carefully. One of those reports published this year is titled "Rigid and Flexible Low Reynolds Number Airfoils." This report had some interesting work done to study the effect of flexible or fluttering surfaces used to enhance low reynolds number airfoil performance. It also contained the following comment: In the low-speed enviornment of micro air vehicles, the variation in wind velocity is substantial compared to the flight velocity causing the angle of attack and Reynolds number to fluctuate considerably. The effect of this unsteadyness on aircraft performance is readily observed at radio controlled airplane competitions where sudden uncontrollable aircraft motions frequenly result in crashing. So there you have it people, a bonafied excuse directly from the proffesional literature. 'enjoy! John Hazel ______________________________________________________________ Open your mind.
