I checked with National Tool & Manufacturing and they sell the ejector pins
that are not hard all the way through (NOT the 'fully nitrided') these are
probably the best for our use as wingrods as they have a tough inner core
and will resist shearing. Very hard on the outside, and precision ground
about 0.0005" under the stated diameter, so they slip in 'just right'. You
will have to cut off the head with a dremel cut off wheel or similar
implement. These will work great for those twisty-wing slopers.

They have a $25 minimum order, but I think they ship free.
