Hi Guys,
While building my Supra, I found a small problem
that could have turned into a large problem. I talked to Barry today and
they are fixing the problem. Very Simple. It is just a matter of having the
wrong hardware.
I did a couple mod's to mine just for my
sake,,,I put little line up sleeve in the wing at the wing bolt holes. Just like
the Tragi's. While doing this, I put the wing back on to check alignment and
tightened the bolts. The back bolt acted like it was stripped. I pulled the wing
back off and looked. The Rear Screw just did not get into the threaded insert.
It was only in the Epoxy/micro filler.
I e-mailed a couple buddies that have Supra's to
have them check theirs. I figured mine was just a fluke deal. Barry said that
after Don tried to land on the power lines at Phoenix, when it fell down it
popped the back bolt loose also.
Barry has contacted Vladimer and have the problem
solved, the guys flying them, or still building them should check this out.
Barry got right after this little problem and will be sending me a couple longer
wing screws.
I am only posting this so other Supra flyers can
inspect there ships to see if they need to get a longer screw for the rear bolt.
We would hate to loose any ships to this problem.
As soon as the ice melts, I look forward to flying
the new plane
