NO flames. The USA is differs from other countries that allow crystals to be changed.
Companies have had to put covers over or
solder / glue in crystals to clear the FCC and get the NARROW BAND certification.
72Mhz is not the same as 35 or 40 MHZ and our
specs are quite close on tolerances. The FCC and others at the field may be concerned
that your equipment is ON its narrow banded
CHANNEL. IF some one goes and changes the RF section with out the proper test data
and equipment they MAY have a TX that works
great but has overtones on other channels and splat other peoples planes that could be
three or more channels away from your TX.

As for module swapping if your asking if you can put another BRAND A module in you
BRAND A unit both having the FCC cert that is
OKAY. But put BRAND A RF deck in your BRAND B TX that is not okay. UNLESS your
doing so on HAM channels and you have a HAM
license. That simple. Ho hassle no fuss.

Under your assumptions.
1) If you have a spectra installed your ACE (great radio BTW) is not certified at
all. It is certified in a Hitec not your ace.
2) If you find an ACE module send it in for a check up there are several GREAT service
centers who can do this for you. If you have
your RF deck go out and get ANY RF deck I hope you would have it aligned to your unit
anyway. EVEN if you get a spectra!
3) There are plenty of great low cost 6 and 7 channel units on the market now. How
long do you expect your ACE TX to last?
4) You have a high end unit and I bet you paid not one dime more or one dime less than
you thought it was worth to you. The ACE was
not an inexpensive unit and way ahead of its time! Too bad Thunder Tiger dropped the
ball on that radio!
5) Only if you die before your ACE does. I doubt anyone would get out of the hobby
because a piece of equipment ran its design life
span. Once more how long do you think the radio will have to work before you get your
moneys worth out of it?

Stan most RF decks are NOT housed INSIDE the TXS they are exposed from the back. No
need to open the case at all. Quite true a
good conversion may go undetected and may work fine. Remember the GOLD sticker
program CDS were to check the sticker on your TX /
RF unit to make sure it was okay. NO difference from looking to see if a RF deck has
been swapped with another brand. What is the
problem with a CD looking at your TX?

If you have a TX that has been modified your buddies who loose planes MAY look at you
a little funny your TX is suspect because it
is not legal. Like I said before if you like the Spectra get a Hitec it was designed
for they are not expensive and they are good
radios. They may not have the features of your Micro Pro but they are good radios and
have better cases ;)
