I did that once. It was a present from my wife. Except that it was about $120 and only included about 20 minutes of training -- I had a guy strapped to my back, and a parachute on his back, so he did most of the hard work -- including pushing me out of the plane when I sort of balked :) It's definately something to try once, but it sure doesn't last very long. It's neat, but it's scary too ... but it sounds like you should try it. | (I'm still working on a "plan" to make a jump...Anyone got any | "helpful" suggestions) Oddly enough, my wife got it for me shortly after I upped my life insurance. Coincidence? :) (though I suspect that there's a clause in the insurance that keeps it from paying out if you're doing things like skydiving or racing cars.) Soaring content? Well, once that parachute opens, you're basically just in a glider, with two handles to pull -- pull the left one, you turn left, pull the right one, you turn right, pull both and you slow down (I think it's basically pushing the `nose' of the chute up, and so if you keep it up, you'll stall the chute.) The thing was pretty draggy though -- I think it would be hard to thermal it! -- Doug McLaren, [EMAIL PROTECTED] "$30 for the One True Ring. $10 each additional ring!" -- JRR "Bob" Tolkien RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
