Anyone else having problems with the JR770 receivers?
My story quickly ... installed one into a two meter (nice match) and flew 2
weekends w/out incident. 3rd weekend went out to 'fire up' the glider ...
nothing! Not even a twitch! Checked battery power ... fine. Checked
transmitter against a different plane ... fine. Checked frequency and
swapped out to a different frequency ... no change.
Brought the plane home, pulled the receiver and tried to get it to work on
the bench. Nothing. Ok, at this point I figured "well, one went bad" so I
grabbed a NEW one that came with my 9303. Bench checked it ...
nothing! Pulled a JR 549 receiver out and bench checked it...works
fine. Installed in 2 meter ... works fine. Even went flying yesterday
that was. But ... these two JR770's ... they're just dead!
Obvious questions & answers:
#1 any crash damage? No. I know at least 1 of them worked, as I flew
it. The other was never installed. Not damage by crashing.
#2 Magic Smoke? No. I mean, the first one was installed and working. The
second never had a chance.
#3 Sure you in PCM mode? Yes ... and I tried both modes just to make sure,
but yes, it was in PCM mode.
I have 1 left besides the two dead ones. It works ... but I'm scared to
install it in anything for fear that it might *stop* working.
So, anyone have any strange failures of their 770's? And if so, where did
you send them for repair?
