Don --
Good to hear about the new Berg stuff being able to stand up to Poway!
It's true the early, early versions of the Berg 4- and 5-channel
(pre-Castle) receivers had issues with the DSP, and hence released the
DSP II, which I can only assume is at least what they are using in the
new Castle Bergs.
For what it's worth, I fly Berg 5's (pre-Castle stock) in my DLGs, and
have never had a problem. Flew my Polecat EZBD to great new heights
(2000 ft or more) on Sunday (beating Gordy and his Super AVA, of
course!) using a spare Berg 5 DSPII. Yeah, I certainly thought "Oh man,
I'm 2500 feet up with a Berg!", but that thing never failed me. Two
weeks ago I managed an LSF IV 1-hour flight with the same ship. This
Sunday, however, I only managed 45 minutes - which was not the fault of
the receiver. :)

I have used the Berg Micro Stamp 4 in my HL models for several
without a problem. I recently purchased new models from Castle
Creations, and installed one in my new XP 4.5. I flew it in this
weekend's IHLGF without a glitch. Probably the worst environment any
of us will encounter - 12 transmitter in a very small area. The
transmitter is a Vision on channel 37.
