Okay so I didn't win, but not all that many got "I Beat Gordy at the MidSouth Soaring Championships!" today :-)

In a total upset sneak from behind maneuver, Rob Glover flew his Icon past Paul Siegel's Supra Lite for the win, but the biggest smile was on Chicago Karl's mug as he took his second consecutive Louisville MidSouth Overall Championship engraved Louisville Slugger Baseball bat!

"I could'a been a contender" but my good friend and flying buddy Bruce "can't I just fling it from the tip?" Davidson buried me in one round...the bum! :-)

There were some amazing flights and saves today, a couple of down low, clench your butt cheek saves for time that made the whole weekend worth it alone.

The weather was a little easier to find air, but of course some will argue that!

The last group flight had some potential to make me a hero, if only someone (or two) would have taken a dump but the air got ridiculous with about 9 planes skied out with one of the local hawks....so none of the top guys left any room for us second class citizens to move up.

It was hot, really hot at times but cool breezes would waft thru making it just gorgeous.

Joe Melchoir just called to let me know he made it back to Delaware and his home airport in record time, just to beat some developing storms.

Paul Perret is currently on the road back to New Orleans, having had his soaring fix sated for
a little while.

I flew the Worlds Heaviest Supra today, just for a change of planes (one of the most amazing and fun things about the Ohio Valley Soaring Series is the rule that allows you to change planes at will, its a great thing really!).

Still one of the great soaring ships of the event was Joe's old Mantis. It just hunted and floated and did its job.

Super Phil of Ft Wayne Indiana took first in Sportsman campaigning a Sharon as usual.  He's getting deadly with it..and his Picolario.

Very few Pic's were used here, I think I saw two.  I think most guys have decided its more fun to read their own air.  Great tool in any case.

Wish you all could have been there!
Gordy
