For Sale: Like New Vintage ARF Falcon 880 This vintage Falcon 880 has been in storage for the past 15 years and I have finally decided to sell it due to my lack of involvement with the hobby. Remember Daryl Perkins yellow and blue Falcon 880 which he has won countless contests with? This is Falcon is a carbon copy but painted white (top) and blue (bottom) instead. This Falcon is NICE! Countless hours have been put into wing construction and and overall finish of this model.
Wings have a S3021 airfoil. Construction is 1/16 inch balsa over 1.5 lb density expanded bead white foam with carbon fiber/glass reinforced spar stucture. Trailing edges are reinforced with glass cloth between the balsa for stiffness durability. Over the entire wing structure 3/4 oz. glass was applied to the balsa to seal the structure prior to lacquer painting. Hinges are Arrow-shaft type with each flap having about 60 degrees travel from nuetral. Wings already have servo cutouts and wiring installed. After all these years in storage, the wings are still very straight and glass smooth. Included is an oil-hardened wing rod. Fuselage is finished with white laquer paint, has tow hook installed and two Airtronics 94102 servos installed. Fuselage is epoxy glass with kevlar reinforcement. Canopy is a dark blue pigmented epoxy glass type. Tail surfaces are monokoted built-up balsa structures. Care was taken to keep the tail as light as possible. Fuselage linkages are installed and operational. When this Falcon was completed it was flown for a total of about 1 hour then stored in a bedroom for 15 years. Total flying weight is in the low 70 oz. My preference is to hand deliver this model to the buyer or a friend of the buyer in the Santa Clara County California area since I don't want to see this item crushed by the shipping company. I'm willing to deliver for free in Santa Clara County. If a local delivery is not possible, I'd consider shipping this item in a professionally packed (oversize) box at the expense of the buyer.
